GAY PEOPLE'S CHRONICLE

Center will create a clone of itself at Pride festival
by Tim Marshall
Cleveland-As part of its ongoing effort to reach out into the community, the staff members of the Cleveland Lesbian-Gay Center will bring the center to the masses at this year's Cleveland Pride Festival.
"The center has always been a place for people to come to, so we're excited to be bringing our 'mini-center' to Pride," said executive director Linda Malicki. "We offer so much and think this will be a perfect way to show what we do for LGBT and allied people in Cleveland."
Modeled after the center's 6600 Detroit Ave. facility, the center's Pride booth will feature:
The Living Room. Check out this special resource area for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. Find out about the center's free HIV testing and our LifeSupport group and social activities for HIV positive
men.
Drop-in Zone. Stop by to meet others, get informed and hang out, a perfect place to eat that festival food or get out of the sun.
The Center
The Resource Café. Choose from a vast selection of resources on programs, upcoming events and LGBT community groups.
Men's Hepatitis Outreach. The Center's Health Education Action Team will be out in full force at Pride, providing men with information about this disease and how they can become immune to it.
Women's Sexual Health area. Pick up a copy of "Body, Mind and Spirit," the center's sexual health resource guide for lesbians and bisexual women.
Speakers Bureau and SSAFE area. Ask them anything! Find out how our speakers are helping to make schools safe for all youth and learn ways you too can empower LGBT young people.
Staff members and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about our many programs and services and to fill you in on our popular community events, like the July 21 Garden Party and the Seasonal Restaurant Tour.
Like Pride, the center's events help build community and create visibility of LGBT people and issues.
And young people between the ages of 1320 should be sure to check out Youth Zone, a special initiative organized by the center, the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland and BlackOut Unlimited. Youth Zone will have its
